Gospel Reflection – April 24, 2025

Jesus appears to the disciples, frightening them, for they think he is a spirit. He shows them his pierced hands and feet, after which he opens their minds to understand the Scriptures and how they pertain to him.

Jesus wants to open your mind and reveal himself to you. Perhaps he is waiting to open the Scriptures for you more deeply. Perhaps the Mass is what he wants you to understand better. Whichever way it is that he desires to reveal himself, be willing to receive him and open your mind and heart.

We should all desire to explore and deepen our relationship with God, especially when there are many resources available to do so. Jesus doesn’t want us to be frightened of him like the disciples initially were. He wants us to follow, listen, and learn from him.

How can you open yourself to the Lord this year? Reflect on this and ask for the grace to be understanding and accepting of what is revealed to you.
