“If I do not perform my Father’s works, do not believe me;
john 10:37-38
but if I perform them, even if you do not believe me,
believe the works, so that you may realize and understand
that the Father is in me and I am in the Father.”
John 10:31-42
Reflection
Jesus is on the verge of being stoned again because the Jews declare he is blaspheming by calling himself God. Jesus implores them to at least believe in his works, if not him, because through his works the Father is revealed.
Sometimes we hear the words of Jesus in the Gospel or through the saints and struggle to believe or truly put our faith in them. In those cases, Jesus asks us to look at the good works he has accomplished in your life – will those help you believe better?
Look for those moments of God’s grace and actions of the Holy Spirit. The Trinity is constantly at work in your life, but you must be open to that reality and embrace it. The Lord doesn’t only rely on words to base your trust and belief on him. He is always present to us.
If you have difficulty trusting the Lord’s words in your life, look for his actions (and vice versa). He will not disappoint.

“Oh, how I love my Mother! She knows it; and then Jesus Himself gave Her to me, and told me to love Her very much. And what great kindness this Heavenly Mother has always shown me! What would have become of me, if I have not had Her?”
