Gospel Reflection – April 6, 2025

Jesus is teaching the people when the Pharisees bring a woman who has committed adultery to him. They ask him if they should stone her according to the law, but Jesus simply says that the person without sin can be the first to throw a stone. They all leave, and Jesus tells the woman to sin no more.

When we are quick to judge and condemn others, we should remember this passage. We are not without sin, and should take care to not condemn others, lest they do the same to us. Showing mercy, kindness, and forgiveness to those who sin against or wrong us is the right thing to do.

Jesus, truly without sin, did not condemn the woman, but offered forgiveness. How can we imitate the Lord? Reflect on how you can better offer forgiveness to others and stop judging others’ sins.
