Gospel Reflection – March 21, 2025

Jesus tells a parable about a householder who plants a vineyard and leases it to tenants. When it is time to harvest the fruit, he sends his servants to collect it, but the tenants kill them. The householder sends another group of servants, and they too are killed. Finally, the householder sends his son, and the tenants also kill him. Jesus says that the kingdom of God will be taken away from them and given to a nation that will produce its fruits.

God sent his only Son, Jesus, to us. Yet many of us today do not listen to his words and ‘kill’ him daily. Do you attempt to cultivate a relationship with Jesus or rather ignore the Lord? Do you respect the authority he has in your life or value your own above his?

God wants us to tend our lives with charity, humility, wisdom, virtue in general. Jesus comes to us to perfect those gifts and bring us closer to himself. Let your life be a testament to the goodness of God, being careful to follow his commandments and respect the natural order.

Pray for an increase in love for the Lord and the ability to faithfully follow his will for your life.

Saint of the Day

St. Nicholas of Flue: 1417 – 1487

“Hold on to the good, all of you together.  Stay on the road in the footprints of your pious ancestors.  Guard faithfully that which has been assigned to you.  If you do that, neither storm nor tempest can harm you and you will overcome much evil.”

St. Nicholas
