“Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.”
luke 6:36
Luke 6:36-38
Reflection
Jesus says that we must be merciful like the Father, not judging or condemning others, forgiving everyone, and giving graciously.
Often, we are quick to judge others’ intentions, their opinions, their looks, etc. We also tend to hold grudges and not forgive. But Jesus shows us a better way to live, one that is filled with mercy, forgiveness, and graciousness.
If we change our mindset and begin to approach life with a lens of mercy, we grow more like Christ and closer to him. We begin to lose the desire for revenge or judgment, and rather, look at others with love.
Jesus lived a merciful and loving life, desiring his mercy to be extended to all. This Lent, reflect on how you can become more like Christ in this aspect. Pray for the ability to love and show mercy to everyone in your life.
