“Let the children come to me; do not prevent them,
mark 10:14
for the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these.”
Mark 10:13-16
Reflection
When people try to bring their children to Jesus, the disciples rebuke them. Jesus becomes angry and tells the disciples to let the children come to him. He says that anyone who doesn’t accept the kingdom of God like a child will not enter into it.
How can we embrace heaven and our Lord like a child? It starts with love and a foundation of trust. Our Father will never lead us astray. He wants us to join him in heaven and embrace the idea that we can be fully united to him one day. This requires deep trust and faith in the Lord.
We easily lose our childlike innocence about the world. It is difficult to not become cynical or hardhearted. Jesus is calling us to let go of being afraid and put our trust back in him, just like a child running to their father for protection. Reflect on how you can do this better.
