Again crowds gathered around him and, as was his custom,
mark 10:1
he again taught them.
Mark 10:1-12
Reflection
Jesus begins to teach the crowds when the Pharisees come and ask if divorce is lawful. Jesus asks them what Moses commanded, and they reply that it is lawful. But Jesus says that in the beginning this was not the case, and whoever divorces and marries another commits adultery.
While this might be a difficult teaching to accept for some, Jesus is always there guiding us through the process. The Gospel says that it was Jesus’ custom to teach. He still does this today and every day for us.
Whether it be a difficult/confusing Church teaching or more simple situation to navigate, remember that Jesus is the Teacher, who will show you wisdom, beauty, and truth if you let him. Jesus is God and he knows all – why not let him educate you, thus bringing you closer to himself?
Pray for greater understanding and wisdom, turning to our loving Teacher for all answers.
