Gospel Reflection – January 17, 2025

Jesus heals a paralytic man brought to him by a group of friends. Because of the friends’ faith, the paralytic is healed and Jesus says his sins are forgiven.

How beautiful that a group of friends brings their friend to Jesus for healing. Have you ever brought someone into the Faith or back to the Church? Perhaps you are slowly walking on that journey with them.

Let us ask Jesus for the strength and courage to bring someone to Christ – whether it be a friend, coworker, or relative. Be the person who exemplifies Jesus’ love, compassion, and kindness.

Saint of the Day

St. Anthony the Abbot: AD 251 – 356

“If we make every effort to avoid death of the body, still more should it be our endeavor to avoid death of the soul. There is no obstacle for a man who wants to be saved other than negligence and laziness of soul.”

St. Anthony
