Gospel Reflection – January 9, 2025

Jesus’ ministry is gaining traction and he returns home to Nazareth. At the synagogue, he reads from a scroll of Isaiah, and tells the people gathered that today, the scripture passage has been fulfilled. Everyone praises Jesus and are amazed at him.

Have you ever experienced Jesus fulfilling something in your life? Were you amazed and in turn gave thanks to God? Sometimes, we pray for particular things to occur and the Lord ‘fulfills’ our prayer. At other times, we realize that the Lord has done something for us we didn’t know we needed, thus accomplishing and filling our lives with his goodness and grace.

Let us more often reflect on when and how Jesus answers our prayers and fulfills our needs. Ask for the grace to always present your needs and desires to him and rejoice in how he fulfills every one in the perfect way for you.
