The crowds asked John the Baptist,
luke 3:10-11
“What should we do?”
He said to them in reply,
“Whoever has two cloaks
should share with the person who has none.
And whoever has food should do likewise.”
Luke 3:10-18
Reflection
John the Baptist preaches to the people, instructing them how to live more righteous lives. Different groups of people ask him what they specifically should do according to their life circumstances, and he answers accordingly.
Likewise, in our own lives, we each have different jobs, responsibilities, and groups we belong to. In each role, we can act in a holy and righteous manner. As a family member, you can treat everyone with love, respect, and honor. As a coworker, you can refrain from gossip and put your best effort forward. As a parish member, you can volunteer your time.
Everyone can commit to a holy habit that reveals Christ to others and leads you down a path of holiness. If you struggle with thinking you can make a positive difference in your various spheres of life, ask the Holy Spirit for inspiration and guidance. Commit to doing one specific thing that makes the love of Christ known to those you encounter.
