Jesus said, “All that you see here –
luke 21:6
the days will come when there will not be left
a stone upon another stone that will not be thrown down.”
Luke 21:5-11
Reflection
Jesus speaks about the end times, giving examples of different signs that will occur. He cautions against listening to those who claim to come in his name, and to not be deceived.
As we approach the end of the liturgical and calendar year, it is worth reflecting on the end. Sometimes we might think it’s the end of the world because of various wars, national tension, violence, and a general dismal world. Other times, we think it’s the end when our personal life drastically changes, whether it be sickness, a broken relationship, or general despair about life.
All of these things do occur, but it doesn’t mean “the end,” and so in those moments, we must turn to God. He provides us with comfort, strength, and peace. We never truly know when the end will come, so it is good to face each situation with Jesus by your side, placing your faith completely in him.
Ask Jesus for wisdom in discernment and for an increase in trust of him. He is with you until the end of your time on earth, and for all eternity.
