Gospel Reflection – November 24, 2024

Jesus is brought before Pilot and questioned, asked if he is a king. Jesus tells Pilot that he came into the world to testify to the truth. He also says that anyone who belongs to the truth listens to his voice (Jesus’).

Do we listen to Jesus’ voice? Do we consider ourselves as belonging to the truth? In a world rampant with moral relativism, it seems to be more difficult to define what is true. Yet Jesus gives us easy instructions to follow – if you belong to the truth, you listen to him alone. At a time when people declare “their” truth, pay attention to see if it’s Jesus they’re following or their own voice.

When you find yourself in such a situation with others, or perhaps even falling into “your” truth as well, remember to stop and reflect on Jesus’ teaching and love: which voice is louder – your own or the Lord’s?

Ask Jesus to help you follow his voice and truth, for it will always lead you down the right path.
