Gospel Reflection – November 12, 2024

In the same way, we are servants of Christ and must perform our Christian duties daily. While we will be rewarded in some manner for this, the Lord tells us that our Christian duty is a minimum, is our ‘job’ as Catholic Christians, and doing what is expected of you doesn’t necessarily make you more special or worthy of reward.

God is merciful and kind – he is pleased when we put our best effort forward in listening to him and living out our faith fully. Yet let us not grow lazy in our efforts – we must strive to always fulfill the necessary duties of being a Christian disciple (at a minimum), for that is required of us.

Ask Jesus for the strength to daily fulfill and live out your Christian duty.

Saint of the Day

St. Josaphat: 1580 – 1623

“I will give my life for the holy union, for the supremacy of Peter and of the Holy Father, his successor…. Lord, grant me the grace to shed my blood for the unity of the church and in behalf of obedience to the Holy See.”

St. Josaphat
