‘What is this I hear about you?
luke 16:2
Prepare a full account of your stewardship,
because you can no longer be my steward.’
Luke 16:1-8
Reflection
Jesus tells the parable about a dishonest steward, who although gets dismissed from his job, is commended by his master for acting prudently with the master’s debtors. The master asks the steward to prepare a full account of his actions, and the steward knows he has done wrong.
Likewise, at our judgment when we die, all our actions from this life will be fully revealed. Obviously, God already knows what we’ve done, are doing, and will have done, but we shall know the extent of our words and actions, too. It is worth reflecting on our lives now, while we can. In what ways are we dishonest with the gifts and graces God has given us? Are we living lives that speak of our Catholic faith, or do we squander away that gift for the pleasures of the world?
We must be responsible stewards of the gifts, graces, virtues, faith, and people God has entrusted us with. Ask Jesus for the grace to be more mindful of your actions and how they affect your relationship with God. He is our master and wants to reward us richly, but we must act and live appropriately in order for that to occur.

“It seems to me that I have found my heaven on earth, because my heaven is you, my God, and you are in my soul. You in me, and I in you – may this be my motto.”
